Coming by way of director-producer Gregory Jacobs in lieu of Steven Soderbergh, the sequel to 2012’s no-holds-barred sleeper hit will pick up three years after the events of the original, with the remaining members of the Kings of Tampa teetering on the edge of retirement. But in keeping with their larger-than-life personalities, the leading stars make it their bidding to go out with a bang with one final performance at Myrtle Beach, and the trailer above showcases some of the excellent choreography on display.

As a matter of fact, Jacobs has since described the template of Magic Mike XXL to be similar to hat of a road-trip movie, replete with all of the mayhem and sense of adventure you’d expect from Mike and Co. With Matthew McConaughey moving on to pastures anew, the crew will be rounded out by Matt Bomer, Joe Manganiello, Kevin Nash, Adam Rodriguez and Gabriel Iglesias.

Magic Mike XXL will make its bow in theaters come July 1. In the meantime, you can let us know what you make of the first teaser trailer via the comments section below.

Picking up the story three years after Mike bowed out of the stripper life at the top of his game, “Magic Mike XXL” finds the remaining Kings of Tampa likewise ready to throw in the towel. But they want to do it their way: burning down the house in one last blow-out performance in Myrtle Beach, and with legendary headliner Magic Mike sharing the spotlight with them. On the road to their final show, with whistle stops in Jacksonville and Savannah to renew old acquaintances and make new friends, Mike and the guys learn some new moves and shake off the past in surprising ways.
