Martin’s fantastical realm of Westeros, but for would-be queen Daenerys Targaryen, the figures are mere obstacles in her path to the Iron Throne. At least, that’s the battle mentality outlined in this newly-released trailer for Game of Thrones season 5, which debuted during today’s Apple event.
Orbiting around the events found in Martin’s A Feast for Crows and A Dance with Dragons, the fifth season will pick up directly where last year’s stint left us. With Tyrion now on the run and the remainder of the Stark family scattered to the wind, we’re excited to see how each respective character arc pans out, not to mention the Khalessi’s dragons, which are no longer smoke-puffing babies.
HBO recently struck up a deal with Apple to ensure that the network’s HBO Now app is available on Apple TV, as the company continues in its push to cable-free entertainment. We learned recently that the service will go live in tandem with season 5’s launch date on April 12, where it will be priced at $15.
