The last of Latino Review‘s three scoops unveiling key details about David Ayer’s Suicide Squad concerns one of its most iconic characters. Over the course of the week, we’ve learned that the assembly of villains expected to go up against the Squad will be special ops baddies Onslaught, headed up by super speedster Antiphon. In addition, the long-rumored appearance of Deathstroke is now expected to be a non-superpowered iteration, played by Joe Manganiello.

Last, but certainly not least, the site has now dished the dirt on one of DC’s most well-loved antagonists. Courtesy of their head tipster El Mayimbe, this morning a raft of information about Jared Leto’s version of the Joker has come to light.

The Joker from The Dark Knight Returns is thought to be the inspiration behind Leto’s take on the mischievous baddie. His physicality is described as “lean & scarred” and yet he dons a suit with broad shoulders. He spends his time at Arkham Asylum – where it’s expected he will be incarcerated at the beginning of the movie – working out “in his cell like an inmate when he is interrogated by Amanda Waller. He’s doing hand stand push ups… He’s definitely not skinny, but in fact more muscular.”

Leto himself has referenced his current challenge of bulking up to play the part, which would make sense considering the type of Joker Ayer has him lined up to portray. Aside from his buffed physique, his skin is described as so white that it’s bleached – a look achieved through harsh chemical means as opposed to makeup.

Closing out the scoop are a glut of SPOILERS highlighting the kind of evil shenanigans he’s involved in, along with news of a new character slated to make an appearance. His backstory will be built around his past crimes, as he’s reported to have killed a lot of people – including one of Batman’s beloved sidekicks.

As part of his treatment at Arkham, The Joker is poised to share screentime with Hugo Strange, who will also appear alongside Harley Quinn in several scenes. Not to be confused with Marvel’s Doctor Strange – of course – he’s the institution’s psychiatrist who is apparently “a part of the story,” but according to the report, there’s been no word on casting with regards to the role.

While this all just remains under the rumor category for now, judging by the leaked photos of Leto undergoing a hair style transformation, we’d estimate that this tide of information about Suicide Squad‘s bleached baddie are spot on.
