Jurassic World Helmer Colin Trevorrow To Direct Book Of Henry

From the low-budget, small-scale indie hit Safety Not Guaranteed to the mega-budget blockbuster Jurassic World, Colin Trevorrow has been on a wild ride since 2012. The former, his debut feature, arrived in theatres three years ago and the latter, his second feature, is slated to land this summer. All in all it's safe to say that life for the talented director won't ever be the same as he continues to rack up future gigs on his filmmaking schedule.

All in all it’s safe to say that life for the talented director won’t ever be the same as he continues to rack up future gigs on his filmmaking schedule.

Earlier this month, we brought you news of his next effort Intelligent Life, a sci-fi story he co-wrote with his Jurassic scribe Derek Connolly that Dreamworks has ushered into development. Now, Sidney Kimmel Entertainment is backing his next film: Book Of Henry.

No story details have been made public yet, but we do know that the screenplay hails from novelist Gregg Hurwitz. To date, his works have ventured into thriller territory not unlike Linwood Barclay and Michael Connelly, suggesting that his original script may fall somewhere within that remit. Then again, Hurwitz has dabbled with comic book writing, so there’s every chance it may hew more closely to that style of story.

Here’s what Trevorrow had to say on the movie:

“’Book of Henry’ is a remarkable piece of screenwriting that has stuck with me for years. I feel very fortunate to be able to tell this story. It is a true original.”

Sidney Kimmel Entertainment will independently finance and co-produce Book Of Henry with Double Nickel Entertainment.
