Barely a week has passed since Bloodline made its debut on Netflix and the online giant has renewed the family-centric thriller for a second season.

With series creators Todd A. Kessler, Daniel Zelman and Glenn Kessler – the creative minds behind Damages – all on board to return, Deadline reports that the cast and crew will go back into production later this year ahead of a return in 2016.

Starring Zero Dark Thirty and The Wolf of Wall Street star Kyle Chandler as peacekeeper John Rayburn, Bloodline orbits around a family in Florida Keys who soon find their relationships put to the test when dark secrets from the Rayburn’s past come to light following the return of an estranged family member. With a cast that also includes the likes of Linda Cardellini, Norbert Leo Butz, Sam Shepard and Sissy Spacek, the Netflix drama has certainly hit the ground running, and it’s a great vote of confidence to see the family drama picked up for a second season so soon.

Bloodline will return for a sophomore season on Netflix in 2016. For more on the show’s maiden season, you can check out our review.
