Daredevil fans who have been eagerly awaiting the first look at Charlie Cox in the Man Without Fear’s iconic red costume got more than they bargained for late Wednesday night, when a technical glitch briefly revealed the image on Netflix’s servers and found its way to Reddit before being taken down. It didn’t take long for the image to spread, however, leading the streaming service to now officially unveil the costume, one day ahead of the series’ release.

The costume employs the go-to “grounded” look that many superhero outfits need in a live-action setting, while still paying tribute to the classic design, horns and all. Placing Matt Murdock in a bit of body armor also makes sense, considering he’ll be going up against all kinds of brutal violence in Hell’s Kitchen.

Developed by Drew Goddard, Steven S. DeKnight and Jeph Loeb, Daredevil stars Charlie Cox, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Ayelet Zurer, Rosario Dawson and Vincent D’Onofrio. The entire 13-episode first season debuts on Netflix tomorrow, April 10th, 2015. Before then, however, you can read my review of the series here.
