One of the newest recruits into the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be extending her stay. Elizabeth Olsen, who plays Wanda Maximoff, aka Scarlet Witch, makes her Marvel debut in Avengers: Age Of Ultron and will seemingly survive the events therein. During the UK press tour for the upcoming superhero sequel, Olsen – in a roundabout sort of way – confirmed that she would be back for Phase Three opener Captain America: Civil War.

During the Meet The Filmmakers event at London’s Apple Store, the actress was asked if she would be back for Cap’s third outing and said: “I guess I’m allowed to talk about that now.” While hardly an official studio-sanctioned announcement, we’re going to take Olsen at her word! Scarlet Witch’s role in future outings has been strongly hinted through wave after wave of scoops from various outlet, so today’s news firms up those rumors.

Overall, the opening chapter of Marvel’s Phase Three is shaping up to be Avengers 2.5 without the official tag. Since the film’s announcement last fall, several actors connected to the movie has thrown in their two cents on its scope. Anthony Mackie called it a ‘wing-ding doozy of a time‘ and Scarlett Johansson has teased that it’s unlike anything Marvel has done before.

Olsen will battle it out alongside a who’s who of Marvel alumni which includes Chris Evans as Captain America, Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark, Anthony Mackie as Falcon, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Sebastian Stan as Bucky and Frank Grillo as Crossbones when Captain America: Civil War graces the silver screen on May 6, 2016.
