The Witcher III: Wild Hunt Patch To Fix Small Text Issue; Update 1.03 Won’t Hit Consoles Until Next Week

One of the core tenets of any role-playing game is indulging in the deep menu system, analyzing statistics and plotting your next trip based on armor, spells and the like. And The Witcher III: Wild Hunt is no different, with players assuming the role of Geralt of Rivia as he tackles the titular crusade head on. Released earlier this week, the threequel has gained near unanimous approval, but one common complaint levelled at the expansive RPG is the small, almost unreadable text, though CD Projekt Red has said that a patch is imminent.

While the hard-to-read script has taken top priority for now, the studio has just released a new stability patch for the PC version of Wild Hunt, 1.03. Targeting bug fixes and other technical mishaps, it’s understood the update won’t launch for PlayStation 4 or Xbox One until next week, with CD Projekt Red stating that “we’re working on addressing what we can. We collect everything the community is reporting.”

In the interim, here are the full patch notes for 1.03:

Improves stability in gameplay and the UI.
Improves performance especially in cutscenes and gameplay.
Fixes grass and foliage popping that could occur after density parameters were changed.
Improves Nvidia Hairworks performance.
Boosted texture anisotropy sampling to 16x on Ultra preset.
Sharpen Post-process settings extended from Off/On to Off/Low/High.
Blood particles will now properly appear after killing enemies on the water.
Corrects a bug where player was able to shoot bolts at friendly NPCs.
Improves menu handling.
Corrects an issue with Stamina regeneration while sprinting.
Fixes a cursor lock issue that sometimes occcured when scrolling the map.
Generally improves world map focus.
Improves input responsiveness when using keyboard.
Corrects some missing translations in the UI.
Corrects an issue in dialogue selections.
Rostan Muggs is back.
Minor SFX improvements.
