Codemasters Pushes F1 2015 By One Month, Racing Simulator Now Slated For July

Though Codemasters had previously slated the racing simulator for debut in June, Eurogamer has learned that F1 2015 has been hit with a slight delay, meaning the title won’t drift onto consoles and PC until July 10.

Given that this is the first installment in the longrunning series to make the jump onto PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, the studio admitted it required more time in order to introduce the franchise to the eighth generation of consoles seamlessly.

The new release date can be glimpsed in the above teaser for F1 2015, which promises a whole host of new features, with the new-fangled Pro Season toplining the list of new additions.

Prior to today’s announcement, Codemasters has been trumpeting the title’s strives toward near-absolute realism, with every new bell and whistle tailored to “recreate the breathtaking handling characteristics of the world’s fastest and most responsive racing cars.” They’ll need it, too, considering how underwhelming last year’s installment proved to be, which was more palette swap than out-and-out revolution.
