Ensuring its reputation as one of the more consumer-friendly studios in the industry remains intact, CD Projekt Red has released fresh details of The Witcher III: Wild Hunt‘s third and fourth post-launch DLC packs, which will release free of charge for all.

As part of the promised 16 content packs, the add-ons will be released later this week in the form of a new contract mission for Geralt – ominously titled Missing Miners – along with a costume pack for Yennefer. For the former, players will make tracks for a small, remote village on the outskirts of Skellige where, as you’ve no doubt already figured out, a handful of miners have seemingly fallen off the face of the earth. Given the brutal world of CD Projekt Red’s RPG and the titular Wild Hunt that runs rampant across the Northern Kingdoms, this contract will be anything but a walk in the park.

In an open letter to fans in and around the threequel’s release last week, the Polish developer spoke candidly about its approach to DLC.

“Cutting to the chase, everyone who buys Wild Hunt will receive 16 specially prepared DLCs absolutely for free, regardless of platform. You don’t have to pre-order, you don’t have to buy any special edition to get them — if you own a copy of Wild Hunt, they’re yours. This is our way of saying thank you for buying our game.”

Just yesterday, those PlayStation 4 users in Europe received a mandatory update for The Withcer III: Wild Hunt, which aims to stabilize performance and exorcise any lingering technical bugs.
