View Gotham In First-Person Through New Batman: Arkham Knight Gameplay Clip

Low and behold, Sony to took to include the upcoming threequel during the company's press event earlier this evening, and the coverage brought about a new trailer which views Gotham from a first-person perspective.

Also, fair warning, if you are yet to play Batman: Arkham City – the second installment in the series – perhaps you should table this latest clip until you’re fully up to speed, as Rocksteady unveils a pretty major spoiler within the opening minute.

Batman: Arkham Knight will largely revolve around Scarecrow’s masterplan to topple The Caped Crusader once and for all, assembling a motley crew of villains that include Two-Face, The Penguin, Harley Quinn and Posion Ivy to name but a few. That evil roster will be rounded out by the titular Arkham Knight, a character that is purportedly exclusive to Rocksteady’s universe.

Representing the final triple-A release before the annual summer lull, Batman: Arkham Knight will swoop onto PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on June 23.

One year after the events of Arkham City, Gotham City has found itself in a state of complete disarray. While newly appointed mayor, Quincy Sharp, seeks to capture the remaining inmates of Blackgate, John Blake, now donning the mantle of the Dark Knight, must contend with the diabolical Black Mask and his band of hired mercenaries – a struggle that will bring the young crusader to a pivotal crossroad.
