Leaked Comic-Con Image Allegedly Reveals Disney’s Full Star Wars Slate

Marvel and, to a lesser extent, DC may have occupied the majority of the mindshare during previous Comic-Cons, wowing their respective fanbases with news of future ensemble pieces and standalone features, but perhaps more so than any other year before it, Thursday's event in San Diego will feature a big presence from Star Wars.

Marvel and, to a lesser extent, DC may have occupied the majority of the mindshare during previous Comic-Cons, wowing their respective fanbases with news of future ensemble pieces and standalone features, but perhaps more so than any other year before it, Thursday’s event in San Diego will feature a big presence from Star Wars.

Only yesterday we learned that the galactic menace himself, Darth Vader, will have a role in Rogue One, Gareth Edwards’ hotly-anticipated spinoff film that will kickstart Disney’s Anthology series. As we already know, this adjacent trilogy will orbit around some of the galaxy’s biggest and most beloved characters, with each standalone feature alternating between J.J Abrams’ Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Rian Johnson’s Episode VIII and Episode IX.

It’s an enticing slate bursting at the seams with potential, but a leaked photo published by Indie Revolver looks to have stolen Disney’s thunder, which revealed the alleged order and titles of all six films. Now, it’s worth keeping in mind that the company is yet to comment on the image in question, though it does appear to be genuine going off the stylized typography and low-res lighting.

But enough about aesthetic, what about the actual content? Well, it appears as though the Han Solo spinoff film, set to be directed by The LEGO Movie‘s Phil Lord and Chris Miller, will land after both Kenobi: The Balance of the Force and Episode IX. Up until now, many had assumed that the Fett/Solo Anthology film would open the year after Episode VIII, given the fact that Disney has slated the project for a release on May 25, 2018.

It’s highly unlikely we’ll learn more about Disney’s masterplan for Star Wars until the curtain falls during Comic-Con in a few days’ time, and only then will we know exactly how all of these pieces fit together in the company’s sprawling galactic puzzle.

For now, let us know what you think of this leaked Star Wars image in the comments and be sure to check back with We Got This Covered throughout the weekend when we’ll have full coverage of San Diego Comic-Con and everything it heralds for a galaxy far, far away.
