The CW’s universally-adored DC series, The Flash is steadily acquiring plenty of new cast members for its sophomore season, and today brings news of two more additions.

First up, The Wrap reports that a fresh comrade has been located for Barry Allen in the shape of fellow speedster Jesse Quick — aka Jesse Chambers in the comics. Newcomer Violett Beane snagged the plum role, playing the “brilliant, quirky college student who gets caught up in Barry Allen’s battle with Season 2’s big bad, Zoom, who has yet to be cast.” This harks back to executive producer Andrew Kreisberg’s earlier comments that the show would be increasing the amount of speedsters this year.

Turning to the dark side, ComicBook.com reports that Demore Barnes (Hemlock Grove) is officially attached to play Henry Hewitt. He also goes by the name Tokamak, a nefarious villain who has appeared sporadically over the years in the Firestorm comics. The site describes him as “a charming, but cocky scientist who was affected by the same Particle Accelerator explosion that created the Flash. When Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) recruits him to join the team at S.T.A.R. Labs, Hewitt jumps at the opportunity to fulfill his destiny as a powerful meta-human.” Wonder how long he’ll fare.

As the season premiere edges closer, trickles of new intel will continue to emerge, so with that in mind we’ll keep you posted on any heroes and villains scheduled to appear.

The Flash returns on October 6.
