The CW has released a new poster for the highly anticipated second season of The Flash, and it features Grant Gustin’s Barry Allen suited up and ready for action as The Fastest Man Alive.

Season two of The Flash picks up months after the Singularity attacked Central City, as Barry is still struggling to forgive himself for Eddie’s death. Concerned about putting his friends in danger, Barry has pushed everyone away and has chosen to protect the city on his own. When a meta-human named Atom Smasher attacks the city, Iris tells our protagonist that he needs to let his friends help him protect the citizens of Central City. Meanwhile, Cisco helps Joe with his Meta Task Force.

Earth-2 is expected to factor heavily into The Flash when it returns, and it’s already been confirmed that Atom-Smasher (played by former WWE Superstar and Haven actor Adam “Edge” Copeland) hails from that alternate reality. Jay Garrick – The Flash from Earth-2 – is also expected to appear in a later episode, so there’s definitely a LOT to look forward to this year.

The Flash returns to The CW on October 6th with “The Man Who Saved Central City.”
