Dr. Light Arrives From Earth-2 In The Flash Season 2, Episode 5 Description

With episode three of The Flash set to focus on Captain Cold and the fourth one revolving around the debut of a new Firestorm, the fifth instalment of The CW series' second season will be putting the spotlight back on Earth-2. That will happen thanks to the debut of Dr. Light, a character (who is male in the comic books, but a woman in The Flash) who clearly has some history with Jay Garrick.

With episode three of The Flash set to focus on Captain Cold and the fourth one revolving around the debut of a new Firestorm, the fifth instalment of The CW series’ second season will be putting the spotlight back on Earth-2. That will happen thanks to the debut of Dr. Light, a character (who is male in the comic books, but a woman in The Flash) who clearly has some history with Jay Garrick.

Here’s the official description for the episode, which is titled “The Darkness And The Light”:

Barry (Grant Gustin) learns a new breacher, Dr. Light, has come through the portal and sets off to capture her. Jay (guest star Teddy Sears) tells Barry that Dr. Light was not a threat on Earth-2 and that Barry can reason with her. However, during a fight with The Flash, she blinds him and drops some shocking news about Zoom. Meanwhile, Barry and Patty (Shantel VanSanten) go out on a date. Steve Shill directed the episode written by Ben Sokolowski & Grainne Godfree.

By far the most interesting tease here is the mention of some sort of big Zoom reveal. While the second episode of The Flash shed some light on his motivations, we’ve yet to discover his identity or grand plan (other than killing Barry), so hopefully this one will flesh things out a little in that respect.

Otherwise, seeing Dr. Light promises to be a lot of fun, and season two of The Flash so far hasn’t missed a step.
