Bond Is On His Own In Latest Rip-Roaring TV Spot For Spectre

Few film characters can hold a candle to the aura of Ian Fleming's James Bond. Across the generations, he has become cinema's quintessential lone wolf, infiltrating nine kinds of enemy safe houses and stopping plans for world domination. Offering a different spin to the formula this year is director Sam Mendes, who returns at the helm for Spectre.

Few film characters can hold a candle to the aura of Ian Fleming’s James Bond. Across the generations, he has become cinema’s quintessential lone wolf, infiltrating nine kinds of enemy safe houses and stopping plans for world domination with relative ease. Offering a different spin to the formula this year is director Sam Mendes, who returns at the helm for Spectre.

As Daniel Craig’s fourth consecutive outing with the license to kill, Mendes’ follow-up is primed to venture down the dark allies of Bond’s past, all culminating with the encounter between our enduring 00 agent and one Franz Oberhauser (Christoph Waltz), who acts as the head of the titular, nefarious organization.

Before that, though, Craig’s operative will embark on a globe-trotting adventure in true James Bond fashion, opening in the iconic Dias de los Muertos celebration in Mexico City, flitting to a high-octane chase in the Austrian Alps, before descending onto the streets of Rome, where he engages in a pulse-pounding pursuit with Dave Bautista’s musclebound henchman, Mr. Hinx.

Throughout today’s action-packed trailer, we get a streamline version of this trajectory, with Ralph Fiennes’ M at one point stating that Bond is on his own. Will we see Daniel Craig’s gun-toting agent slip off the radar in Mendes’ sequel? We’re only a few weeks out from having all the answers.

Spectre will open on November 6 in North America.
