On top of all the controversies plaguing music festival TomorrowWorld over the past few weeks was the death of attendee Connor McGinnis from Boca Raton, Florida. McGinnis was taken at first to Wellstar Douglas after the festival finished on the 26th, and then was transported to Emory University Hospital.

According to a toxicology report from the Fulton County Medical Examiner, we can now confirm that his death was caused by “acute toxic effects of MDMA.” Of course, music festivals of TomorrowWorld’s size are no strangers to drug-related fatalities; this year’s edition of HARD Summer in SoCal saw the deaths of two attendees, which spurred lawmakers to redouble their restrictions on area events in addition to maximizing police presence.

The editorial staff at We Got This Covered express our condolences to the family and friends of Connor McGinnis. As always, we encourage our readers attending music events like TomorrowWorld to make their experience more about the music than the party – a lesson which anybody who plans to pursue this lifestyle for longer than just a passing phase must learn.
