The cast of Supergirl continues to get more and more impressive, with the latest addition being Buffy the Vampire Slayer alum Emma Caulfield. She’ll show up in just the one episode as Cameron Chase, a “stern, no-holds-barred” FBI agent who uses “manipulation and manpower” as her weapons of choice.

According to the official description released by CBS, Chase heads to Supergirl with a clear mission in mind, though what that might be remains to be seen at this point.

“After her father’s violent murder, Cameron Chase decided to dedicate her life to law enforcement. With little sympathy, and plenty of suspicions, she pursues her targets with ruthless determination.”

In the comics, Chase is actually an agent for the Department of Extranormal Operations, so why the change to FBI agent is hard to say. It could be that she ends up conducting her own investigation into Supergirl, bringing her into conflict with both her and the DEO. The character has pursued heroes in the comics – Batwoman to be precise – so there’s at least a chance that will be the case here, too.

Tell us, what do you think about this latest casting addition to Supergirl? Are you excited to see Chase on the show?
