It would appear that the first official trailer for Captain America: Civil War is right around the corner, after directors Joe and Anthony Russo revealed that the snippet is “almost complete,” possibly indicating that Disney and Marvel will release it alongside Star Wars: The Force Awakens for maximum impact.

News of the teaser’s progress first surfaced over on Reddit, where one user in particular was in attendance at a recent Q&A session that the Russo brothers took part in within a Cleveland community college. Naturally, talk of filmmaking soon meandered into the pair’s tenure in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which began with The Winter Solider and will kick into high gear for next year’s Civil War – itself acting as Avengers 2.5 in all but name.

Bridging the gap between Phase 2 and the all-encompassing Infinity War, Captain America: Civil War is certainly juggling a lot of plates, though in responding to questions about the maiden trailer, the Russo brothers revealed that said clip is “almost complete” with only “a few special effects to edit in.”

Arguably, one of the biggest draws of the first sizzle reel is the promise of seeing Tom Holland in action as Spider-Man. Indeed, the British actor has been teasing fans over on Instagram this past couple of weeks by flaunting his aerobic abilities, though it shouldn’t be too much longer now before we see those skills in action.

In fact, Joe and Anthony Russo claimed that Holland’s rendition of Peter Parker is “awesome.” He’ll be joined by Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. in the superhero showdown, while the remainder of the cast will be rounded out by Anthony Mackie, Elizabeth Olsen, Sebastian Stan, Jeremy Renner, Paul Bettany, Paul Rudd and many more.

Captain America: Civil War will fire up Marvel’s Phase Three when Joe and Anthony Russo’s threequel arrives in theaters on May 6, 2016. In the meantime, tell us what you’d like to see from the reveal trailer using the comments below.
