Though much about Warner Bros. and DC Comics’ highly anticipated Wonder Woman movie is being kept tightly under wraps, it’s going to be damn near impossible for the studios to avoid some details leaking out during filming.

Now, thanks to the Daily Mail, which snapped some set photos from Southend, Essex, where the Patty Jenkins-directed blockbuster is currently rolling cameras, it’s been confirmed that (as previously reported) the first part of Wonder Woman takes place during World War I.

Gal Gadot stars as the lasso-carrying warrior princess, who will be introduced next year during Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice (set shortly after Man of Steel, in modern times). Confused? Despite her youthful appearance, Wonder Woman will apparently age much slower than us mere mortals, and she’s been around for a long, long time.

However, though these photos confirm that Wonder Woman will be set partly during World War I, don’t expect the film to remain exclusively in that time period. Rumors have the movie jumping between a trio of settings – in addition to charting Princess Diana’s role in WWI, Wonder Woman may also leap back to the superheroine’s early days on the utopian isle of Themyscira, where she gained her formidable fighting skills, and also push forward into the modern age in order to set up Wonder Woman’s role in two planned Justice League movies.

Along the way, the pic will also find time to focus on the romance between Diana and downed pilot Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) and – according to rumors – introduce two of Wonder Woman’s more mythological villains. Ares (possibly Sean Bean) and Circe (maybe Eva Green) have both been tossed around as potential opponents for the Themysciran princess to square off against, though it would be a good idea to take their involvement with a huge grain of salt for now. Trevor’s involvement, on the other hand, is a done deal, as confirmed (yet again) by those set photos.

Wonder Woman hits theaters on June 23, 2017.
