Game Of Thrones Season 6 Teaser Says You Have No Idea What’s Coming

Westeros beckons once more as HBO debuts the first all-too-brief teaser for Game of Thrones season 6, which is due to premiere in early 2016. Yes, for many of us in the Northern Hemisphere, winter is already upon us, but come April, there's a very different brand of winter barreling down from the hills of the north - and according to Bran Stark, you have no idea what's coming.

Picking up after the heart-wrenching finale of season 5, today’s snippet is more of a highlight reel than anything else, all building up to that very moment where a certain member of the extended Stark family meets his maker.

Those of you who have kept up the Game of Thrones marketing train will point to the first teaser poster for season 6, which all but confirms Kit Harrington’s return as Jon Snow. But could the brooding one-sheet be a red herring? It’s not outside the realm of possibility.

Then again, there’s no question that Jon Snow is one of the more popular characters on HBO’s fantasy series. Couple this with the fact that Ian McShane may or may not play an instrumental part in deciding the fate of the fallen Stark and season 6 is already shaping up to be an intriguing outing. Plus, there’s the return of Bran Stark, who was last seen revelling in his visions north of the Wall after encountering the three-eyed raven. In channeling his supernatural ability, we imagine he knows more about the fate of our beloved characters better than most.

While we wait for HBO to lock down a firm premiere date, we can pour over today’s trailer a few dozen times in anticipation of Game of Thrones‘ return for season 6 in April of next year. Among the newcomers are Melanie Liburd, Richard E. Grant, Essie Davis and Pilou Asbæk as the dastardly Euron Greyjoy.
