Koei Tecmo has released a new character trailer for Hyrule Warriors Legends, the 3DS update of the 2014 hack-and-slash game based on The Legend Of Zelda series. So far, we’ve seen Ganondorf dispatch crowds of Bulblins with his mighty trident, Skull Kid destroy legions of Stalchilds using his mischievous antics, and Tetra bringing her swashbuckling pirate moves from sea to land. Today’s trailer, however, showcases an interesting new character whose inclusion in the game was announced last month: Linkle.

Originally conceptualized as a female version of main hero Link, Linkle was intended to be in the initial Wii U release of the game. Even though she ended up not making it into that version, she did feature in a book of artwork that was released alongside the Japanese limited editions, appearing in the section for rejected characters.

Fan demand for her to be added to Hyrule Warriors grew after the publication of these illustrations, and now the heroine has materialized, armed with dual crossbows that look like they deal some explosive damage.

The new trailer gives a better look at how Linkle plays after her initial reveal at last month’s Nintendo Direct. You’ll be able to try out her whirlwind attacks and rapid crossbow firing for yourself when Hyrule Warriors Legends is released on March 25, 2016.
