There are a lot of very exciting comic book adaptations set to be released on the big screen in 2016, and while the likes of Captain America: Civil War and X-Men: Apocalypse look epic, so too does DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.

The small screen Arrow/The Flash spinoff focuses on time-traveling rogue Rip Hunter as he’s tasked with assembling a disparate group of both heroes and villains to confront an unstoppable threat (Vandal Savage), one in which not only is the planet at stake, but all of time itself.

Now, ahead of the premiere of Legends of Tomorrow next month, The CW has released a series of character posters focusing on all of the lead heroes and villains. Among those pictured in the gallery above are Victor Garber, Brandon Routh, Arthur Darvill, Caity Lotz, Ciarra Renee, Franz Drameh, Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller.

Legends of Tomorrow will air on The CW on January 21st, and seeing this unique group of heroes (and villains) unite to take on Savage has a lot of promise, especially if that recent crossover was any indication. After all, Team Arrow and Team Flash only really managed to take him down thanks to pure luck, so the odds are definitely going to be stacked against these so-called Legends of Tomorrow.
