First Look Promo For iZombie Season 2, Episode 11: “Fifty Shades Of Grey Matter”

Following up on a stellar mid-season premiere, The CW has released the first promo video for the next brand new episode of iZombie, which bears the clever title "Fifty Shades of Grey Matter." If the hilarious title did not provide a big enough hint, the trailer shows just how much Liv's libido has been set ablaze upon consuming the brains of a librarian who wrote erotic fiction. Based on the small amount of footage given, I think this could end up being my favorite episode this season.

Let us also not forget that this will also be the episode that will feature Kristen Bell (Veronica Mars, Heroes) as a guest narrator. One has to wonder if the “Veronica Mars with zombies” comparison was not lost on the producers. Then again, iZombie co-showrunner Rob Thomas was the creator of the aforementioned show.

As of this time, no official synopsis for “Fifty Shades of Grey Matter” have been given, but last night’s episode, “Method Head,” contained some huge developments that may provide insight into upcoming offerings:

  • Liv and Clive reunite: After spending the holidays without working with each other, things are starting to go back to normal. Granted things may be a little shaky between them right now, but their working relationship is one of the cornerstones of the series and I expect Liv will soon earn Clive’s trust back in full.
  • Major plays Vaughn for a fool: After passing a bizarre test given by Max Rager CEO Vaughn Du Clark, Major seems to have earned his trust. The real kicker is that the fitness bracelet given to Vaughn is bugged, so now Major can keep his ear to the ground when it comes to the company’s sinister plans.
  • Blaine is now in the crosshairs of the police: After an FBI agent matched Blaine’s face to the sketch related to the Meat Cute massacre, one would suspect the remaining nine episodes of the season won’t be a cakewalk for the criminal mastermind.

iZombie returns Tuesday, February 2 at 9:00 pm EST on The CW.
