It’s been a big weekend for Marvel this week. Yesterday we heard that the studio would be giving The Punisher his own spinoff series on Netflix, and today, we have even more exciting news. Though it shouldn’t really surprise anyone, Jessica Jones has finally been confirmed for a second season.
It was really just a matter of time in regards to when we’d get a confirmation, as the series premiered to excellent reviews and a lot of love from fans last year. Right from the start people had been asking for a second season and there was never really a doubt in anyone’s mind that we would get one.
Now, though, it’s been confirmed. The only details we have at this point, however, are that it will be a 13 episode affair and that Melissa Rosenberg will be back as showrunner. It’ll probably be a while before we get any further details, too, as Marvel still needs to get through Iron Fist and presumably The Defenders before focusing on Jessica’s sophomore outing.
Still, news of a second season being confirmed is good enough for us and until we hear more, we’ll just sit patiently and speculate on how the studio can possibly top what was a near perfect first season.
