Last night’s Reverse-Flash centric episode of The Flash delivered big ratings for DC Comics series, but it’s showing no signs of slowing down (no pun intended) over the coming weeks. Today, The CW has released the first official images from next week’s instalment, and in the gallery above, we get to see Wally West meet the Scarlet Speedster for the very first time.

Barry (Grant Gustin) teams up with Wells (Tom Cavanagh) to figure out a way to close the breaches, but they are distracted by a meta-human nicknamed Tar Pit (guest star Marco Grazzini) who can transform into liquid asphalt. Iris (Candice Patton) is concerned for Wally’s (Keiynan Lonsdale) safety after she finds out about his drag racing hobby. When he refuses to stop she makes a bold move that puts her in danger. Rachel Talalay directed the episode with story by Brooke Eikmeier and teleplay by Kai Yu Wu & Joe Peracchio.
The Flash meeting Wally is a big deal, especially as the latter’s comic book counterpart ultimately ended up becoming Kid Flash and later THE Flash when Barry Allen was killed. Whether or not the TV show is planning on heading in that direction remains to be seen, but it definitely looks like this episode of The Flash will be shedding even more light on Wally’s background, which we’re certainly excited about.
