Ahead of the game’s arrival early next week, developer Campo Santo has entertained the proposition of releasing an Xbox One version of Firewatch in the months after launch.

Speaking to Red Bull, Co-Founder Sean Vanaman cautioned that for now the focus remains on the PlayStation 4 and PC versions of the first-person exploration title – due to drop on February 9 – though bringing Firewatch to other platforms is certainly not off the table should there be a demand. “We’ll see how the game does at launch,” he told the site. “And if there’s a desire for it on other platforms then we’ll explore that.”

Taking place in the Wyoming outback circa 1989, Campo Santo has in the past compared the length of the experience to a TV mini-series, roughly in the 6-7 hour ballpark. But will the story continue in the form of a sequel? Vanaman noted that for now there are currently no plans for a follow-up to the story of lonesome fire warden Henry, though he is excited to see how the studio’s next creative venture comes to form.

“I’m always kind of ready to start working on another game. But I think we’ll start chipping away at that when the time is right. It won’t be a sequel to Firewatch, this story is done. But I’m very excited to see what we come up with next.”

Firewatch is poised to launch across PlayStation 4 and PC on Tuesday, February 9. It’ll be priced at $19.99.
