Jurassic World actor BD Wong is set to make his debut as sinister psychiatrist Dr. Hugo Strange when Gotham returns to television at the end of the month, and now we have our first official glimpse at this small-screen take on the classic Batman baddie.

Wong has previously teased several different looks for the character via a recent Instagram post, but it seems that they decided to go as close to the comic book incarnation of Strange as possible. And judging by the photo above, it appears to have been the right decision.

Strange will be in charge of some very shady experiments in Arkham Asylum, supposedly in an effort to produce a new breed of supervillian, and in a recent interview with TV Insider, Wong said the following about it:

What [he] is doing in there is indeed very, very bad. Imagine the worst thing someone might do. Then multiply that by 10.

That doesn’t bode well for one particular Gothamite who will find himself the newest resident of the notorious madhouse: The Penguin. Yes, ol’ Oswald Cobblepot clearly does something to someone with a bit of sway, and finds himself at the mercy of Strange’s experiments. According to Wong, Penguin “is never the same from the moment he walks through the door.”

Tell us, what do you think of Wong’s take on one of the Caped Crusader’s earliest villains? Sound off below and let us know!

Gotham returns on Monday, Feb.29 at 8/7c on Fox.
