Empire Magazine has pulled back the curtain on its latest cover, this time spotlighting Joe and Anthony Russo’s hotly-anticipated threequel, Captain America: Civil War.

Having featured Warner’s Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice last month, the outlet is switching gears from DC to Marvel as it begins to uncover more details surrounding the latest outing of Steve Rogers and Co., and today’s stylish new cover will no doubt mark the start of a steady stream of new information over the coming days and weeks.

Shaping up to be the best Marvel film to date – according to Anthony Mackie, at least – Civil War thrusts a wedge between Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, with Marvel’s roster of costumed heroes lining up on either Team Cap or Team Iron Man before duking it out. But don’t fret; Chris Evans has allayed fears that the monumental sequel will smother Captain America’s screentime to stage Avengers 2.5, claiming that his star-spangled hero is still very much the focus of the movie even when the gloves – and helmets – come off.

Captain America: Civil War lays siege to theaters on May 5 in North America and April 29 in the United Kingdom. Until then, you can brace yourself for Marvel’s superhero power struggle with Empire’s stunning new cover below.
