With the tides of electronic music gradually turning away from the main stage, it’s refreshing to see outfits like Paris & Simo continue to bring fresh concepts to the ever-changing genre of progressive house. While the broader arrangement certainly adheres to the popular progressive house formula, much of the appeal of “Lyra” is derived from its softer, more melodic elements. The beginning of the track utilizes a chugging electro house rhythm, but an introspective bridge before the buildup and drop adds considerable dimension to its ambience.

Between “Lyra” and the Paris & Simo original that preceded it, “Here Tonight,” the duo have positioned themselves as an outfit to watch in 2016.
