Watch Gotham Stories: “The Whole Frozen Affair”

In recent weeks, Fox has been treating us to some exciting motion comics in the form of Gotham Stories. If you happened to miss any previous installments, fear not, because the saga has been cut together in its entirety for the release of its final chapter. While I did not expect them to go all out, I must admit that it makes for a much more enriching experience to view it as one fluid tale.

Featuring the voice talents of Robin Lord Taylor (Oswald Cobblepot/Penguin), Camren Bicondova (Selina Kyle/Cat), Nathan Darrow (Victor Fries), Ben McKenzie (Jim Gordon) and Donal Logue (Harvey Bullock), this series of motion comics bridges the gap between the first half of Gotham’s second season, “Rise of the Villains,” and its second half, “Wrath of the Villains,” effectively leading into tonight’s mid-season premiere.

For those unfamiliar with the story up to this point, it has chronicled Mr. Freeze’s relentless quest to put Penguin on ice. The chilling gun for hire’s motivations have yet to be revealed, but that only adds to the intrigue. While Penguin manages to narrowly escape, it seems the King of Gotham just can’t catch a break throughout “The Whole Frozen Affair.”

If you’ve been following the saga to this point, the new footage occupies the last minute or so of the clip and is a bit of a throwback to what went down between Penguin and Jim Gordon in the series’ pilot episode. Gordon should know by now that absolutely nothing will keep Cobblepot away from Gotham.

Fans who have enjoyed this series should be pleased to know that DC Comics intend to release a print edition featuring a custom cover. As of now, no release date has been disclosed.

Gotham returns with brand new episodes tonight at 8:00 pm EST on Fox.
