20th Century Fox has done Nick Fury proud today, assembling its army of mutants with a fresh batch of electrifying character posters in anticipation of next month’s X-Men: Apocalypse.

Arriving hot on the heels of the stylish, superimposed one-sheets that largely drew attention to the all-powerful Four Horsemen, today’s wave of posters shifts gears to welcome almost all of the film’s mutants into the neon-blue limelight – save for Oscar Isaac’s malevolent deity, that is.

Among the actors and actresses featured are James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Tye Sheridan, Sophie Turner, Evan Peters, Kodi Smit-McPhee and Nicholas Hoult, along with Michael Fassbender (Magneto), Olivia Munn (Psylocke) and Alexandra Shipp as the mercurial Storm.

As much as Apocalypse is being held up as a grand finale, there have been murmurings that the core cast will look to reprise their respective roles in the not-so-distant future, including both James McAvoy and Jennifer Lawrence as Professor X/Charles Xavier and Mystique, respectively.

X-Men: Apocalypse is pegged to arrive on May 27, bringing the curtain down on Bryan Singer’s X-Men prequel trilogy in the process. But are you excited to see how the blockbuster brings closure to Singer’s series? Let us know your thoughts below.

Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshiped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.
