Captain America: Civil War Scribe Rubbishes Reports Of Filming Multiple Endings, Ant-Man Meets Team Cap In New Clip

It’s often one of the highlights of any Marvel feature, when our favorite costumed heroes cross paths with one another for the very first time – think Steve Rogers and Bruce Banner meeting on the deck of the helicarrier in Avengers. Captain America: Civil War will herald more moments of fan service, too, with today’s new clip showcasing the very moment when Scott Lang (AKA Ant-Man) is introduced to Chris Evans’ star-spangled hero.

Channeling a similar adulation to that of Agent Coulson, it’s an entertaining snippet and reassurance that Paul Rudd’s effortless comedic energy will carry over from last year’s sleeper hit. You can find it above, courtesy of Jimmy Kimmel Live!.

In related news, directors Joe and Anthony Russo have spent much of the film’s production fending off nine kinds of rumors and unfounded tidbits – such is the level of excitement swirling around Civil War. But once those reports claimed Marvel shot multiple endings to the superhero threequel, screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely have stepped in to shut down speculation. 

While speaking to Uproxx, Markus and McFeely confirmed that talk of multiple endings is rubbish, and that the final version of Captain America: Civil War “is very much the movie [they] always intended on.”

“No, I saw that on the internet and that’s crap. I read, we read we filmed three deaths. This is very much the movie we’ve always intended on where we wanted to stand and where we wanted to leave it.”

Rounding out the core cast for Civil War are Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Paul Bettany, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Rudd, Chadwick Boseman, Emily VanCamp, Daniel Brühl, Frank Grillo, William Hurt, Martin Freeman’s government agent and, almost, Evangeline Lilly’s The Wasp.
