Marvel chief Kevin Feige is neck-deep in Captain America: Civil War press junkets, but that doesn’t mean people will pass up the opportunity to question the secretive boss about other upcoming projects within the MCU.

Along those lines, Fandango recently asked Feige about the progress of the studio’s first major female-centric superhero property (on the big screen), Captain Marvel. He wouldn’t say much, but he did reveal that big news surrounding the casting and behind-the-scenes crew of the film will be coming “in the next month or two.”

“I think we’ll be announcing a filmmaker in the next month or two, and probably some cast members later in the summer, at the end of the summer,” Feige told us, alluding to the possibility that Marvel will make a big Captain Marvel announcement at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con in July.

So, it sounds like the company will ride the wave of Civil War buzz by announcing a Captain Marvel director earlier in the summer, and then close out Comic-Con with what’s sure to be multiple reveals, including cast members. Feige didn’t directly state it, but hopefully that means the reveal of the actress who will play Carol Danvers herself.

Fandango prodded Feige about the potential for more female-led Marvel films, which he said is definitely in everyone’s mind. And, yeah, that includes the much-talked-about possibility of a Scarlett Johansson/Black Widow solo flick:

“Yes, for sure, I think [Black] Widow at some point would be great,” he told the site. “But when you start talking about things that are now four/five years away… sometimes we do that. Doctor Strange has been talked about for ten years. But we’re focused on the next nine movies, which is a lot, between now and 2019.”

Captain Marvel is slated for release on March 8, 2019.
