If ardent Star Wars fans have May 4 to look forward to, then Trekkies can crack out the markers to circle May 20 into their diaries, for that’s when Paramount Pictures will debut the latest trailer for this summer’s anticipated sequel, Star Trek Beyond.

Hosting the first-ever fan event for Paramount’s rebooted Star Trek, plans are in place for the sizzle reel to go live day and date with the 50th anniversary of the prestigious series. It’ll take place on the studio’s lot, featuring said trailer, behind-the-scenes featurettes and a Q&A session with Justin Lin, the director guiding Beyond toward its July release. Those who aren’t able to attend will be pleased to note that the event will be streamed via the film’s Facebook page.

Per Justin Lin:

“As a lifelong fan of Trek, we wanted to do something special for the fans and we couldn’t think of a better way to do that than creating an event dedicated to them in the year that we also come together to celebrate the series’ amazing 50th year.”

On board for that space-faring adventure are Chris Pine, Zoe Saldana, Zachary Quinto, Simon Pegg, Karl Urban, John Cho, and Anton Yelchin and, seemingly, two big-name cameos that have yet to be revealed.

Showcased by Lin while masked in some pretty extensive prosthetics, the director did tease that he’s worked with both of the actors prior to Beyond. Could one of them possibly be Lin’s Fast and Furious cohort, Dwayne Johnson? Time will tell.

Star Trek Beyond shoots for theaters on July 22. For a brand new peek at Paramount’s sci-fi threequel, look for the latest trailer to drop in tandem with the franchise’s 50th anniversary celebrations on May 20.
