Update: CD Projekt Red has officially slated The Witcher III: Blood and Wine for release on May 31. The expansion’s first teaser confirms the studio’s launch plans, with Game Director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz adding that “Blood and Wine makes The Witcher 3 complete – it’s Geralt’s final mission. Containing more than 90 new quests, and over thirty hours of brand new adventures, it’s something that I think gamers will remember for a long time.”

Original Story: Blood and Wine, the second and final story-related expansion for The Witcher III: Wild Hunt, is seemingly on the verge of release, with a new report pegging the hotly-anticipated DLC for launch on May 30.

Word comes by way of Twitter, where Wario64 posted a screenshot of a Steam listing that slated Blood and Wine for an arrival towards the end of the month. Neither CD Projekt Red or publisher Bandai Namco have confirmed or denied the alleged leak, so take this rumor with a pinch of salt until more information comes to light.

If The Witcher III: Blood and Wine were to release this month, it would contradict previous reports claiming the add-on – one that seemingly takes upwards of 20 hours to complete – would land across consoles and PC in the thick of the summer. That said, unless the listing captured by Wario64 is an incredible PhotoShop, we’re inclined to believe that Witcher fans will be wringing their hands with delight in a few weeks’ time.

One way or another, Blood and Wine will act as the last major content drop for The Witcher III, with developer CD Projekt Red already teasing its follow-up, Cyberpunk 2077.

Expect the Polish studio to release new details regarding Blood and Wine in the coming weeks – perhaps along with an official release date for The Witcher III‘s final DLC, too?
