Tonight’s episode of The Flash is going to be a big one, especially as last week’s instalment left us on quite the cliffhanger as it was seemingly revealed that Harrison Wells’ attempt to give Barry Allen back his speed had in actual fact killed him. Throw in the fact that filmmaker Kevin Smith is helming this episode of the DC Comics adaptation, and there’s lots to look forward to.

With just hours to go until the episode airs, The CW has released a very cool new poster alongside an extended trailer which once again reassures us that The Flash is alive and well, but stuck in some sort of alternate dimension which may or may not be the speed force – depending on whose theory you decide to believe.

For more details on what to expect from this episode, here’s the synopsis for “The Runaway Dinosaur”:

With Barry (Grant Gustin) gone, the team must figure out a way to handle the return of an old enemy – Girder (guest star Greg Finley). Realizing Girder is retracing his steps from his last attack, Iris (Candice Patton) volunteers to act as bait to trap him in S.T.A.R. Labs. Meanwhile, Barry fights to return to his old life. Kevin Smith directed the episode written by Zack Stentz.

The trailer above confirms that Girder (who died in season one) is some sort of zombie, but whether or not that has anything to do with Zoom is unclear at this stage. Either way, his return should pose an interesting problem for the team after The Flash‘s sudden disappearance. Could Wally and Jesse be drafted in now that they also possibly have powers? Fingers crossed.
