Speculations permeated the electronic music community that Martin Garrix was behind anonymous producer(s) AREA21 when he premiered their debut single, “Spaceships,” during his set at Ultra Music Festival. The outfit was then confirmed to be signed through the Dutchman’s brand new STMPD RCRDS imprint, and now they’ve announced their next release.

STMPD RCRDS Tweeted the following graphic, indicating that the title of the release will be “Girls” and it will come out this Friday:

The announcement is vague enough that the release could take the form of a single, EP or full-length album. If it sounds anything like “Spaceships” though, it will showcase a marginally EDM-influenced hip-hop sound that’s a significant departure from Garrix’s signature progressive house style.

AREA21 will release “Girls” through the Martin Garrix-founded STMPD RCRDS on Friday the 20th. Between this new side project and his upcoming album, the producer looks to have a busy and exciting summer ahead as festival season unfolds.
