After accomplishing the seemingly impossible task of killing Vandal Savage at the end of the first season, the crew on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow must now look ahead to what will likely be greater threats. Executive Producer Marc Guggenheim recently teased just that, basically saying that the next season will feature an even bigger big bad.

The cast of the show, however, remains in the dark when it comes to the subject of the next villain(s) they will do battle with. Regardless of that, they still spoke of the direction the show will take when DC All Access caught up with them.

Caity Lotz, who plays Sara Lance/White Canary, was the first to speak:

“There really is gonna be a big shakeup of everything for Season 2. It’s gonna be a little bit of a different show, which I’m excited to see where they’re gonna go with it.”

She also goes on to say that she hopes to do guest shots on both Arrow and The Flash in addition to pleading that cast members from those shows appear on Legends at some point. Considering that her character is a product of Arrow, I really would like to see her stop by that particular show some time in the next year. With so much happening in Star City, I and many others wonder how she would react to some of the major developments. In other words, Sara should have the chance to play “catch up” as it were every so often just as she did in the Legends Season 1 finale.

Moving on, Brandon Routh, The Atom himself, says he expects more of a villain of the week formula when questioned by Tiffany Smith:

“It might be more like on the show Flash and Arrow where we have a couple smaller villains that come in. There will be a season-long nemesis, but he’ll come and go throughout the season, so we don’t always have to be focused solely on that.”

Personally, I find that refreshing to hear because I felt that Vandal Savage was on the to-do list a little too much week in, week out during the first season. A freak of the week format should mix things up nicely.

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow returns with new episodes this fall on The CW.
