We’ve known the title of the episode was “The Battle of Bastards” for a while now, so it was fairly obvious this was going to feature a showdown between the newly resurrected Jon Snow and the most hated character since Joffrey Baratheon croaked, Ramsay Bolton. But now, this promo gives us our first exciting glimpse of the battle that awaits us.

Snow, his sister Sansa and their ragtag bunch of Wildlings are hopelessly outnumbered, but they are determined to risk it all and attack Winterfell in the hopes of retaking their ancestral home. During the last episode, The Blackfish refused to help his kin, but the prevailing theory is that the ever-scheming Littlefinger will finally step up and send aid in the form of the Knights of The Vale.

You’ll have to tune in this Sunday to see how the battle turns out – but this being Game of Thrones, expect to say goodbye to at least a couple of main characters before the smoke clears.
