The Events Of The Flash’s Flashpoint Could Have An Impact On Arrow Season 5

In the season two finale of The Flash, Barry Allen raced back in time in order to save his mother's life. When that happened in the comic books, the timeline was essentially broken, and the world as the Scarlet Speedster knew it became a twisted version where a war between Atlantis and Themyscira had torn the Earth apart.

In the season two finale of The Flash, Barry Allen raced back in time in order to save his mother’s life. When that happened in the comic books, the timeline was essentially broken, and the world as the Scarlet Speedster knew it became a twisted version where a war between Atlantis and Themyscira had torn Earth apart.

With Grant Gustin confirming that the season three premiere will be titled “Flashpoint,” it appears as if the show will take things in a similar direction, but what does that mean for Arrow?

During a recent Facebook Q&A, Stephen Amell indicated that the events of The Flash could very well have an impact on his show, stating: “Don’t know; certainly could,” in response to a fan.

As cool as this would be, it honestly seems unlikely. Unless it happens as part of a crossover, Arrow‘s status quo suddenly being drastically changed would be confusing to viewers who don’t watch The Flash, and we still don’t know how long any sort of timeline change will last for (everything could very well be back to normal by the time the credits roll on the premiere).

It’s going to be interesting seeing how this plays out though, and meeting a different version of Green Arrow in The Flash would be a lot of fun. Based on past experience, we’ll learn more about what’s to come in both shows when their panels take place at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con.
