Fast And Furious 6 To Be Released Memorial Day Weekend 2013

The Fast and the Furious franchise has become a huge moneymaker for Universal. With Fast Five raking in almost $600 million worldwide, a sixth movie is obviously a big priority for the studio. Such a big priority in fact that Universal is getting ready to push it out on May 24th, 2013. Furthermore, Paul Walker, Jordana Brewster and Vin Diesel will all likely return to face what is being called "their most dangerous adventure yet."

The Fast and the Furious franchise has become a huge moneymaker for Universal. With Fast Five raking in almost $600 million worldwide, a sixth movie is obviously a big priority for the studio. Such a big priority in fact that Universal is getting ready to push it out on May 24th, 2013. Furthermore, Paul Walker, Jordana Brewster and Vin Diesel will all likely return to face what is being called “their most dangerous adventure yet.”

I’d say it’s a pretty safe bet that we can also expect Dwayne Johnson as well as Eva Mendes (based on the after the credits scene) to return for more action. Justin Lin will be back behind the camera and it has been confirmed that the film will once again go down the heist route, rather than revolve around cars and street racing.

Right now the project is still in the very early stages of development and next to nothing is known about it. But, with Universal eager to get it out the door, this one should come together pretty quickly I’d imagine.
