Though it’s unclear if Marvel will take the opportunity to showcase new footage from Scott Derrickson’s mystical origins story, a new Doctor Strange poster hails from Entertainment Weekly ahead of San Diego Comic-Con.

Brought to life by artist Ryan Meinerding, the still image places Benedict Cumberbatch in the title role of Marvel’s Sorcerer Supreme, and we understand that those who attend SDCC between July 21 and July 24 will be entitled to a free cop of Meinerding’s spellbinding artwork.

The one burning question that fans will be asking, of course, is whether Marvel is setting the stage for a new trailer reveal. Doctor Strange stands as the studio’s last remaining tentpole of 2016, so it’s certainly not out of the question.

Either way, ahead of the standalone flick, EW quizzed Cumberbatch on his new leading role, and how the cerebral traits of Doctor Strange aren’t too far removed from that of one Sherlock Holmes.

“The two men are intelligent,” says Cumberbatch. And? “Finito,” the actor says. “That’s it. Stephen Strange is a lover, he’s a materialist, he’s arrogant, but he’s got a great sense of humor. There are smatterings of the same colors that Sherlock has, but he’s not on the spectrum.”

Scott Derrickson will conjure up an origins tale like no other when Doctor Strange premieres in November. Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rachel McAdams, Michael Stuhlbarg, Mads Mikkelsen and Tilda Swinton also star.

“Doctor Strange follows the story of neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a horrific car accident, discovers the hidden world of magic and alternate dimensions. Doctor Strange” is the latest film in Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Phase 3’s goal—over the course of four years and nine films—is to introduce audiences to new heroes and continue the adventures of fan favorites.”
