There’s just one week to go until the release of Suicide Squad, and while the embargo has not yet lifted on reviews, online buzz points to this being a real winner for Warner Bros.

The studio needs that after the mixed response to Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, a movie which disappointingly failed to reach $1 billion at the worldwide box office. Should Suicide Squad overperform – and the signs are pointing to a huge opening weekend – that would go a long way in restoring faith in the DC Films Universe for both Warner Bros. and moviegoers.

Tim will tell on that front, but in the newly released images above, we get a fresh look at characters like The Joker, Enchantress, Katana, and Killer Croc. It’s once again Jared Leto’s Clown Prince of Crime who steals the show though, and it’s fair to say that he’ll probably end up doing the same in the movie itself based on what we know about his take on the villain.

Starring Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Jai Courtney, Cara Delevingne, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje Viola Davis, and Ben Affleck (not to mention another member of the Justice League), Suicide Squad is set to be released on August 5th, 2016.
