Like it or loathe it, Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice is the comic book gift that keeps on giving. Four months on from the theatrical release of Zack Snyder’s superhero tentpole, concept artist Christian Lorenz Scheurer (via Film Sketchr) has dropped a fresh batch of concept art for Warner Bros.’ titanic clash.

Focusing on the core battle between Supes and Ben Affleck’s Caped Crusader, this wave of artwork is all about the film’s landmark moments, from Batman perched on top of a rooftop – lightning bolt and all – to a series of environmental shots spotlighting the key locations across both Gotham and Metropolis.

This isn’t the first time that Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice has been thrust into the limelight in the months after its theatrical bow. Earlier this year, Clay Enos’ Instagram feed proved a hive of activity for all things DC, where the photographer premiered behind-the-scenes action shots of Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman in the heat of battle, the Man of Steel throwing a punch or three and, finally, the DC Trinity assembled in all of their mythic, awe-inspiring glory.

Yes, Zack Snyder’s superhero tentpole failed to score unanimous praise across the board, but there’s no doubting that the scene of Bats, Supes and Diana Prince joining forces proved to be one of the more memorable of the year – so far, at least.

Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice Ultimate Edition is now available across both digital and physical outlets. For our own thoughts on the extended cut, have a gander at our review.
