First Rogue One: A Star Wars Story TV Spot Teases The Galaxy’s Greatest Heist

Disney and Lucasfilm has unveiled the very first TV spot for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, teeing up the greatest heist in all the galaxy.

This is a rebellion, isn’t it? All has been quiet on the Rogue One front ever since Disney’s Star Wars Celebration Europe, which brought forth an inspired featurette for Gareth Edwards’ militaristic offshoot and, for those in attendance at the London event, an all-new trailer.

Much to the surprise of no one, that sizzle reel soon found its way online before being pulled soon thereafter, but now, the House of Mouse has premiered the very first TV spot for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story that tees up the greatest heist in all the galaxy.

Ready for a shot at the big time following roles across Like Crazy and The Theory of Everything, Felicity Jones is the actress that will take point as our newfound heroine, spearheading a plan to snag blueprints for the Death Star alongside Diego Luna, Jiang Wen, Riz Ahmed and Alan Tudyk’s droid K-2SO.

In line with early rumors, that teaser above also hints at the unveiling of one Darth Vader, who can be seen reflected on the shimmering floor of what we assume to be the Death Star itself. Beyond James Earl Jones’ menacing big bad, there’s also Ben Mendelsohn’s regal Imperial leader Orson Krennic to contend with – not to mention that glorious cape. Mads Mikkelsen and Genevieve O’Reilly also star as Galen Erso and Mon Mothma, respectively.

Come December 16, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will arrive in theaters with an all-new entry in Lucasfilm’s canon. For now, you can get up to speed on Edwards’ spinoff via the gallery below.
