Since staging an alpha test for Battlefield 1 most of which appeared online through untimely leaks – in the aftermath of E3 2016, Electronic Arts and developer DICE have been keeping hush hush on their upcoming WWI shooter.

Much of that comes down to the fact that DICE is hard at work on a new trailer for BF1 that’s being aligned with Gamescom 2016 later this month. That’s according to the studio’s Randy Evans (via VG247), who took to Twitter to confirm that Battlefield 1‘s latest trailer is “really starting to come together.”

Set to descend on Cologne, Germany from August 17 to August 21, we expect that Gamescom 2016 will also bring word of the forthcoming Battlefield 1 beta test, after DICE nailed down plans to host a public event during late summer. With a new sizzle reel all but in the tank, surely EA and DICE will take advantage of the occasion and formally announce when said beta will go live ahead of the game’s October launch.

Battlefield 1 will ship players off to the frontlines of The Great War when DICE’s shooter deploys for PS4, Xbox One and PC on October 21. We’ll be keeping tabs on that aforementioned beta as Gamescom inches closer and closer, so stay tuned.
