Fans of British anthology series Black Mirror are in for a treat today, as Netflix has lifted the lid on our first look at the upcoming third season ahead of the Toronto International Film Festival. We say TIFF 2016 because Charlie Brooker’s techno-thriller will be in attendance at the imminent fest, screening two of the 13 new episodes bound for Netflix on October 21.

Of the selection, organizers have plucked the installment helmed by Joe Wright (Atonement, Pride and Prejudice). Entitled “Nosedive,” it features Jurassic World‘s Bryce Dallas Howard and Alice Eve in a satirical, standalone episode hailing from Rashida Jones and Parks and Recreation creator Michael Schur. You can see how “Nosedive” is shaping up via the pics above, and already we’re sensing some riff on society’s obsession with augmented reality following the barnstorming success of Pokemon Go.

After contributing to the show’s sophomore run, Owen Harris is back behind the lens for the first episode of Black Mirror season 3. It’s called “San Junipero” and stars Mackenzie Davis and Beyond the Lights breakout Gugu Mbatha-Raw. Beyond that, details remain thin on the ground, though we understand 10 Cloverfield Lane helmer Dan Trachtenberg is on board to direct an episode centering on video games. Perhaps this is when Pokemon Go will receive the Black Mirror treatment? Time will tell.

All 13 episodes of Black Mirror season 3 will land on Netflix come October 21. In order to stoke excitement, two episodes of Charlie Brooker’s prescient drama will screen at Toronto International Film Festival in early September.
