Fed up with getting caught with your pants down for the umpteenth time by the indigenous and very aggressive fauna that make their home in Don’t Starve‘s world? If so, then Klei Entertainment sure does have some good news for you.
From September 13, the developer’s Don’t Starve Together standalone expansion for the quirky survival title will be available for all PlayStation 4 players, meaning you’ll no longer have to face a pack of ravenous Hounds all by yourself.
You and five other players can team up to brave the harsh wilds of Don’t Starve‘s unforgiving ecosystem in local or online co-op, so if you’re feeling particularly adventurous, there’s nothing stopping you and your mates from having a lock-in for a marathon session of Beefalo herding and base-building.
With new friends come new challenges however, so there’s going to be a few surprises lurking in the dark during your travels. New creatures, crafting items and biomes are all included in the add-on, so tread carefully.
Don’t Starve Together has been available via Steam Early Access for a good while since Klei Entertainment first announced it, and it’s just one of several updates the studio has made to the base game over the last year or so, the most recent having been Don’t Starve: Shipwrecked, a full-fledged update that replaces murky swamps and arid desert with a tropical setting. Sounds good, right?
As luck would have it, you’ll be able to enjoy Shipwrecked too, as it’s set to release alongside Don’t Starve Together with a Mega Pack which includes all the content listed below.
- Don’t Starve Together: Console Edition
- Don’t Starve: Console Edition
- Don’t Starve: Shipwrecked
- Don’t Starve: Reign of Giants
- Don’t Starve: Console Edition: Shipwrecked Theme
- Don’t Starve: Console Edition: Autumn Theme
Current owners of Don’t Starve on PlayStation 4 get a 60% discount on all of the above, so what are you waiting for? It’s time to fight with your friends over the last Beefalo Steak left on the grill.
