Expect “A Big Reveal” For Iris West In The Flash Season Premiere

One character, however, who may not be as affected by the change – aside from not having much familiarity with Barry Allen – is that of Candice Patton’s Iris West. Taking her recent discussion with Entertainment Weekly into account, it seems as though we won’t be seeing an Iris that was as radically different as on Earth 2 – and even then she still was a constant in Barry’s life.

Here’s what she had to say:

“She’s a fixed point for Barry Allen, so no matter where we see her, no matter where we find her, she’s still very similar to the Iris that we’ve always known and loved, which is why Barry sees her as the shining star in the sky. He can always find her somewhat the same.”

Something that may have us all talking after the premiere airs is what we will learn about Iris while in the world of “Flashpoint.” From the way the following statement by Entertainment Weekly was framed, it sounds like there will be a major revelation regarding that character:

“All I can tell you is that there’s quite a big reveal when it comes to Iris in the premiere — though that doesn’t mean she’s wildly different in the Flashpoint timeline.”

Now, if we’re not to expect too many dissimilarities, perhaps this reveal will carry over when the timeline is set straight and affect Barry and Iris’ relationship going forward. No matter how you slice it, it appears this series will continue to dazzle critics and fans alike with multidimensional viewing experiences.

The Flash returns for its third season on Tuesday, October 4 on The CW.
